New Carbon Monoxide and Smoke Detector Legislation from 1st October 2015.

New Regulations passed by Parliament on 14th September this year require landlords renting out residential accommodation to ensure that every floor of their property with living accommodation has a working smoke detector in place and rooms with open fires or where solid fuel is burnt such as wood, coal or biomass must have a carbon monoxide detector to safeguard their tenants.
